Despite T.I.’s notable absence, the second annual BET Hip-Hop Awards went on. T.I, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr, was nominated for 9 awards and won two, including CD of the year, which he won jointly with Common. The rapper was arrested over the weekend when police searched his Atlanta home and found weapons and a bodyguard said he was instructed by T.I to buy a silencer. Other winners at the show included Kanye West, who, get this, said he didn’t deserve the win and tried to give his award to Big Boi of Outcast.
