Patrick Swayze had a happy 56th birthday this week.
On Sunday, a source tells Usmagazine.com that his wife Lisa Niemi threw him a bash in Chicago, where he is currently filming the A&E series The Beast.
The next day, his actual birthday, he enjoyed lunch in his trailer with Niemi.
Crew members also surprised him with decorations and a birthday cake, Entertainment Tonight reports. Fans even came out to offer up their best wishes.
Swayze who revealed he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March has been working 12-hour days on The Beast. “I’m a miracle, dude … I don’t know why,” he told photographers last month.

Says Beast executive producer Steven Pearl, “Patrick has an incredible energy. Hes got a passion for life.
“It rubs off on the crew,” Pearl tells Us. “People are there for him as a person and him as a character and what it is were trying to accomplish as a show. Its a quiet leadership, and its pervasive.”
