Weeks after taking the stage at the Palm Springs International Film Festival after a few “splashes” of the beverage, the star is launching her own champagne.
“ANGEL CHAMPAGNE (ROSE) by MC coming soon!” she Tweeted on Friday. Earlier in January, the star appeared on stage to accept the Breakthrough Actress Performance award for her role in “Precious” alongside director Lee Daniels. On the podium, MC gave a loopy five-minute speech, warning the audience she was under the influence.
She explained the appearance at the People’s Choice Awards later that week, telling reporters they’d been celebrating her award with champagne and she hadn’t had enough to eat. “Didn’t realize they put the champagne on the tables, So we WOULDN’T drink it! LOL,” she joked in her Twitter announcement.
George Clooney poked fun at the singer during the New York Film Critic’s Circle Awards on Monday, telling the audience he was “Mariah Carey fucked up right now.”
