Despite the fact that there are several rumors that Nickelodeon would cancel Zoey 101 because the star of the show, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears, is pregnant, the show will continue. Entertainment Tonight has confirmed that the fourth and final season will air as originally planned.
According to some Internet rumors the network was concerned that airing the show would be sending out an inappropriate message to teen girls. After Jamie Lynn confirmed her pregnancy Nick released a statement that said,
“We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”
