Former Tonight Show sidekick Ed McMahon has escaped the prospect of foreclosure by selling his gated, six-bedroom Beverly Hills estate.
Though Donald Trump offered to buy the property which is in Britney Spears’ neighborhood McMahon’s rep said the real estate mogul was not the buyer.
In June, news broke that McMahon, 85, defaulted on $4.8 million in mortgage loans with Countrywide Financial Corp.
He has not worked for about 18 months due to a neck injury.
The 62-year-old Trump who doesn’t know McMahon had said making the deal “would be an honor” because “I’d watch him every night.”
Trump asked, “How could this happen?”
