Ex-stripper David Hernandez was shocked when his name was called as the Idol to be voted off the hit Fox show.
“I was genuinely shocked,” the 24-year-old from Glendale, AZ admits. “I really didn’t think I would be going home. Honestly, based on all the things the judges have said about my vocals, I thought I would definitely be in the bottom three, but I didn’t feel I deserved to go home. Everything happens for a reason. I am very happy. There are probably a lot of doors going to open with this one closing.”
Hernandez says he will return home to visit his mom and then shop around for a record deal.
