The British-Irish boyband performed at the Rockerfella Plaza to a record 18,000 fans for the American morning breakfast show.
Chris, or Breezy as he is affectionately known to his fans, tweeted to his 12 million fans: “7 days until we take over the @TodayShow! Think we can break the record for biggest audience again #TeamBreezy? #ChrisBrownTODAY.”
Team Breezy as Chris’ fans are known, will have to camp out for at least five days like Directioners did in order to come close to beating One Direction’s record.
Whilst the staggering number of fans that turned up to support the biggest boy band on the planet, should be the main talking point of One Direction’s Today Show’s appearance; however, most people are still talking about co-anchor Savannah Guthrie getting the names of boys confused- twice.
Firstly she said that Liam had some news- referring to Zayn engagement.
When Liam replied: “Oh, that wasn’t me actually. It was Zayn,” the journalist covered up her mistake by claiming she was testing the audience.
Guthrie then askes Louis a question, but mistakenly calls the 21-year-old pop star Liam.
To which he politely replies: “Um. I’m Louis.”
