She was suppose to be there for at least 72 hours but Britney Spears was released from Cedars Sinai medical center because she no longer posed an imminent threat to herself. According to TMZ.com Cedars made the decision to release Spears without consulting any of her attorneys involved in the case.
Britney was being held on what is called a “5150 hold” which means she could be held against her will for a maximum of 72 hours but if the facility determines she is no longer a danger, they can release her before that.
Spears was visited by Dr. Phil and could appear on his show sometime next week. Britney also lost visitation rights with her kids.
