Despite the fact that bootleg copies could be purchased on street corners in New York and Los Angeles Ridley Scott’s American Gangster still managed to take the number one spot at the box office earning an estimated $46 million beating out Jerry Seinfeld’s Bee Movie, which earned a respectable $39 million. Rounding out the top five is Saw IV, which slipped from first place to number 3 and Dan in Real Life followed by30 Days of Night.
