Pete Wentz Thinks Ashlee Simpson is a good Actress

Pete Wentz hopes his wife Ashlee Simpson -Wentz gets to be a diva on Melrose Place.

“I’m excited to watch. She’s a good actor,” Pete told Usmagazine.com at the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday. “I think it will be awesome. I told her that I hope she gets to play the bitch.”

Ashlee, 24, and Pete, 29, didn’t grow up watching the primetime drama, which went off the air in 1999.

“She was way too young, and I was a little too young,” Pete said. “I was into 90210 and I kind of got into Melrose Place, but I was more, like, a Saved By the Bell kind of guy!”

No matter: Pete says the spinoff, due to premiere in this fall on the CW, will be different than the original.

A court in Malawi is expected to rule on Friday whether U.S. pop singer Madonna can adopt a second child from the southern African country, a move likely to be opposed by human rights groups.

Madonna appeared in court on Monday seeking to adopt four-year-old Mercy James. The case was adjourned until April 3.

Critics had accused authorities of giving one of the world’s most successful singers special treatment when she adopted her Malawian son David Banda. Malawi civil society groups say they plan to oppose Mercy’s adoption.

Madonna , in a black dress and sunglasses, did not speak to reporters after the High Court case was adjourned.

“It has been adjourned to Friday, April 3 for the judge to make her ruling,” court registrar Thomson Ligowe told Reuters.

One of Madonna ’s lawyers said outside the court that she was asking the court to grant her an interim adoption of about 18 months.

Madonna has captivated millions around the world with sexy, high-energy performances and songs like “Material Girl,” “Like a Virgin” and “Papa Don’t Preach.”

The local Nation newspaper has quoted Madonna , 50, as saying Malawian friends had told her David needed a brother or sister.

“We are surprised at what’s going on,” leading Malawian human rights activist Mavuto Bamusi told Reuters.

“We are contemplating challenging this adoption.”

Madonna , who began adoption proceedings in 2006, took David when he was 13 months old after his father had placed him in an orphanage following the death of his wife.

Some Malawians opposed David’s adoption, accusing the government of skirting laws that ban non-residents from adopting children.

The singer has said despite the controversy, she was happy to be involved in a case that might pave the way for more adoptions in Malawi, where an estimated one million children have been orphaned by AIDS.

On Sunday Madonna toured a site where her charity, Raising Malawi, plans to build a multi-million dollar school for girls in Chikhota village, a short distance outside Lilongwe.

Isis King, the first transgender contestant on the CW’s Americas Next Top Model, opens up to Tyra Banks about her sex change operation, her new life as a woman and her boyfriend, Desmond.

King, 23, was infamously voted off the 11th cycle of Top Model after freezing up during a water shoot because she was so nervous about wearing a bikini. Last November, Banks offered to pay for surgery to turn King into a woman and in an appearance on this show this Monday, Banks gives her the chance to recreate the pool scene. “I got the bathing suit issue out of the way,” King says while showing off three sexy photos (watch the video below). “I feel very confident and sexy.”

The aspiring model says it took four hours and 15 minutes to change from a male into an anatomical female. She still remembers what it was like to look in the mirror after the surgery. “It’s almost like I was supposed to have it,” says King, who was born Darrell Walls and used to live in a homeless shelter. “Although it was swelling and bruising and everything, automatically I felt more comfortable. I was ready to walk around the house in my little shorts. I just felt more confident.”

King also introduces her beau, Desmond, whom she met more than three years ago — before her surgery — on MySpace.

“When we were just friends, I had a dream I was getting married,” he tells Banks. “As the bride came down the aisle, it was Isis… Shes strong, shes beautiful, shes my soul mate.”

With that, Desmond gets down on one knee and proposes to King. Her response?

Officials have confirmed Madonna is adopting a 3-year-old girl, Mercy James, from Malawi.

“The adoption is going ahead,” Malawi’s Director of Child Welfare Services, Penstone Kilembe, tells Usmagazine.com. “It has been at an advanced stage for some time.”

Mercy will be Madonna ’s fourth child, and second child from the African country. David Banda, 3, was adopted in 2006. The girl is from the “Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother, they both died…We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week,” an official at the ministry of Gender and Child Development told Reuters Madonna is due in court Monday. Her rep Liz Rosenberg has yet to comment.

Earlier this week, New York’s Daily News reported that Madonna ’s attempts to adopt again could be hindered due to her love life.

“Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes,” a senior official from Malawi’s Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development said of the singer, who has romanced 22-year-old model Jesus Luz and Alex Rodriguez since divorcing Guy Ritchie last year. “Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy.” Madonna has expressed interest in wanting to adopt another child.

“Many people – especially our Malawian friends – say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister,” she recently told Malawi’s The Nation newspaper. “It’s something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government.”

Jennifer Hudson is in for quite a ride as she readies to wed fiance David (Punk) Otunga. On Thursday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the talk show host presents Hudson with an engagement gift: A tandem bike. “David is going to love this,” Hudson says, adding that bike riding is one of their favorite activities. “We’re like big kids, so we like to ride bikes,” she says.

“One thing I like to do is put my dog in her little basket and put her on my back and then we ride the bike to the dog park,” says the singer, who has three Pomeranians.
