Batman took down reigning champ Spider-Man as box office leader, The Dark Knight took in $155.3 million in its opening weekend making it number 1. Weekend box office totals Meryl Streep’s Mamma Mia! managed an impressive opening despite Knight with an estimated $27.6 million.
Will Smith’s Hancock took in $14. Million bringing its total to $191.5 million in three weeks.
Journey to the Center of the Earth and Hellboy II rounded out the top five. Space Chimps debut at number 7 bringing in $7.3 Million.
